There are four Houses in the primary school. Our 'houses' are named after ancient civilisations as follows:
Red: Red Indians
Blue: Vikings
Yellow: Aztecs
Green: Pharaohs
All students from the KG1 classes up to the primary 6 have been allocated to one of these Houses. This year teachers will be included in the house system. House competitions are organised throughout the school year. House points are rewarded for good work, hard work, helping our friends and teachers or good behaviour. These are totalled each week and announced at assembly. At the end of the year, the house with the most points gets a reward.
The benefits of an effective House system are many and we hope that it will provide opportunities to;
provide vertical support and identity for students as they move up through the school,
be a part of our positive behaviour policy where achievements are recognized,
encourage students to participate in a range of house activities and events
develop student’s roles of responsibility as they work as organizers or captains.
As a whole, the aim of the House System is to maximise opportunities at all ages for the development of self-confidence, community spirit and leadership ability.
